Phil Edgar While there are many great televisions out there to pick from, you might want to seriously consider the Samsung LN46B750. It is a solid television with a nice shinny black finish. However, it is not just about the look of the television as under that case is a TV that comes with plenty of enjoyable features. Of course, you do not have to take my word for it as you can let the features of the television speak for themselves.
If you want a 46-inch, LCD, HDTV then the Samsung LN46B750 is the television for you. It is a moderate size, which makes it perfect for just about any living room, bedroom, or office. While there may be a fine line between a functional and a larger than life television, this model seems to walk that line very well. With full 1080 P support, this model has a resolution of’20 X 1080.
The actual screen size is 45.9 inches and it has a widescreen format. It comes with a contrast ratio of 1,500,00:1 and a response time of 2 milliseconds. The sound is provided by two speakers that run a 5 watts each, which means a total wattage power of 10. There is also audio balancing and SRS TruSurround HD system.
There are a total of 4 HDMI cable inputs as there is 1 on the side and then there are 3 on the back. There are even two sets of the composite AV inputs. There is 1 on the side and then there is 1 on the rear. On the rear of the unit, there are also two sets of component inputs. In addition, on the rear of the unit there is a pc input slot and an Ethernet cable slot.
Picture in picture is also supported in the Samsung LN46B750 along with Game Mode, DLNA, and HDMI-CEG. There is a built in tuner for some air digital broadcasts and the television is energy star compliant which means it is energy efficient. The entire unit is 30 inches high, 43.9 inches wide, and 10.8 inches in depth when the stand is attached. The total weight with the stand attached is 54.2 pounds and without the stand attached, it weighs 43.4 pounds and is only 3.1 inches deep.
There is a one year parts and labor warranty on the unit complete with in home service and telephone support. This is handy if anything happens to your television. The Samsung LN46B750 has scored well in many customer reviews with an average rating of 4 out of 5 stars. There are very few major complaints, with only some minor nit picking.
These mainly deal with glaring of sunlight off of the shiny case, and the remote being of poor quality. The unit itself has performed well in most cases and very few consumers are unhappy with it. It performs well for video games, and watching movies. Performance of the unit in low and high light situations is very good for a display of this type.
With all of that said, if you are considering the purchase of a new television for watching movies, playing games, or for general use, you will want to keep the Samsung LN46B750 in mind. Even though it does not have every single feature out there, it is a good quality television for the price of the unit, which is right around $2,300 USD. This is an average price of what you will find for a television of this quality.
