High Crimes: Lawyer Claire Kubik has just been told that her husband is not who she thinks he is. Tom Kubik is really Ron Chapman, and he is on trial in the military justice system for the murder of villagers in Latin America. Claire takes on the case but just what will she find out, as the truth is unraveled?
No Love for Johnnie: Civilized research of congressmen who cares only in regards to winning the ballot. Cast includes Peter Finch, Stanley Holloway, Mary Peach, Mervyn Johns, Donald Pleasence, Dennis Cost, and Oliver Reed. (110 minutes,’61)
The Peacemaker: A train wreck, with a train loaded with nuclear weapons, in Russia leaves what appears to be a nuclear disaster in its wake. Nuclear expert Dr. Julia Kelly thinks otherwise. She is convinced the explosion was staged, and the nuclear weapons have fallen into dangerous hands. Colonel Devoe agrees, and the two must uncover the conspiracy that has lead to nuclear weapons falling into the wrong hands.
Night of the Demons: On Halloween day, wouldn’t you know it some common adolescents pick the wrong acquired mortuary to reception in. Everything in reference to this amateurish film is unnecessary, containing the film itself. Cast includes Cathy Podewell, Alvin Alexis, William Gallo, Mimi Kinkade, Linnea Quigley, and Spear Fenton. The Rock: General Francis Hummel is angry with the U.S. government for not honoring men he has because they died during covert operations. He is so angered by this rebuke that he takes a group of tourists visiting the now closed prison of Alcatraz, and holds them hostage. He plans to unleash poisonous gases upon the city of San Francisco if his demands are not met. The unlikely team of a biological weapons expert, and a former prisoner of Alcatraz, must sneak onto the island and attempt to thwart the plot.
The Mark of the Hawk: Abnormal story intelligently performed, set in modern-day Africa, with peaceful vs. violent means for racial equality the prime topic. Cast includes Eartha Kitt, Sidney Poitier, Juano Hernandez, and John McIntire. (83 minutes,’57)
Basic: While things go awry throughout an armed forces work out, base captain Daly brings in Travolta, the best interrogator he ever had, to query the surviving members of the squad, whose tales don’t add up. Actually a whodunit, this film keeps us guessing, as a good intrigue should. Cast includes John Travolta, Connie Nielsen, Samuel L.
