The Bourne Ultimatum: In the third movie of the series, Jason Bourne is still being hunted by those who had trained him into the ultimate assassin that he is. Having lost his memory when almost being killed, Bourne is retracing his past to try to understand who he was, and why everyone wants him dead. All his skills are put to the test, as the C.I.A. is relentless in its effort to have him eliminated.
Blessed Event: Tracy’s most renowned role has him as a Walter Winchell mock-up whose fiery line makes him famous but also lands him in hot water. Cast includes Roy Del Ruth. Lee Tracy, Mary Brian, Dick Powell, Emma Dunn, Blunt McHugh, Allen Jenkins, Ned Kindles, and Ruth Donnelly. (81 minutes,’32)
12 Monkeys: The year is 2035 and the human race has been nearly demolished. Only about 1% of the population has survived, and life on the surface of the planet is impossible. Scientists now send a reluctant man back in time, to try and stop the whole sequence of events before they get started.
Cop Land: Freddy Hanlin is the Sheriff of Garrison New Jersey, a small town not too far from New York City. Freddy always want to be a New York City cop, but he is slightly deaf, so he never could. When internal investigator Mo Tilden shows up in town to look into potential police corruption, Freddie takes up the cause and starts to help out. Freddie is about to learn that the men he has always idolized might be doing some very bad things.
Rich Girl: Incredibly gentle time filler in reference to “meager little rich gal” Schoelen leaving her life of comfort in her daddy’s Bel-Air mansion and trying to make it on her own, ultimately hooking up with a blue-collar rock singer. Cast includes Jill Schoelen, Don Michael Paul, Sean Kanan, Ron Karabatsos, and Paul Gleason. (96 minutes,’91)
The Sea Gypsies: Fine family venture has Logan cruising round the globe with his young family. Becoming shipwrecked in Alaska becomes the ultimate adventure. Cast includes Robert Logan, Heather Rattray, Mikki Jamison-Olsen, Shannon Saylor, and Damitri Patterson. (101 minutes,’78)
There’s Something About Mary: Ted has had a crush on Mary since high school. A good friend convinces Ted to search Mary down. So Ted hires a private detective to locate Mary. This sets the stage for a fun comedy romance.
