The trail eventually returns to the U.S. where the uncover one of the world’s most treasured secrets.
Sextette: Amazing is the only word for this comedy in reference to a Hollywood glamour girl whose numerous ex-spouses keep popping up while she is on her latest honeymoon. Naturally there’s shock value in noticing octogenarian Mae still strutting her stuff, however it wears out pretty quick. Cast includes Mae West, Tony Curtis, Ringo Starr, Dom DeLuise, Timothy Dalton, George Hamilton, Alice Cooper, Keith Moon, Rona Barrett, and Walter Pidgeon. (91 minutes,’78)
Ivan the Terrible: Continuance of the legend of King Ivan IV, in which he takes on the boyars in a battle for power. Impressive film is just a shade underneath its predecessor, Banned by Stalin due to debatable illustration of Ivan’s secret patrol, and not discharged till’58. Cast includes Nikolai Cherkassov; Serafima Birman, Mikhail Nazvanov, Pavel Kadochnikov, and Andrei Abrikosov. (88 minutes,’46)
I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry: Larry and Chuck are top notch fire fighters and best friends. When Larry fails to change the beneficiaries on his life insurance policy after the unfortunate death of his wife, the only way he can make sure his children benefit if he dies is to remarry. There is no woman he can trust with his kids, so he comes up with the idea of marrying his best friend Chuck.
Dodgeball, A True Underdog Story: Peter is the proud owner of Average Joe’s gym. His luck is running low and White Goodman, owner of gym franchise Globo Gym, wants to get the gym from Peter. Things culminate in a dodge ball competition in which Average Joe’s team must win for Peter to keep his beloved gym.
The Born Losers: What appeared at the time just some other biker film attained new interest in the ’70s as the inception of Billy Jack; he helps free youthful dropout James from the grips of Slate’s gang. Excellent action scenes, although Laughlin’s use of brutality as an arraignment of bloodshed is already present.
