There are plenty of tools and devices to help you pick up leaves from special rakes to leaf blowers of every kind. The brisk air is here and the autumn leaves are falling and covering lawns across the nation. Of all the autumn outside home chores, raking up and collecting leaves is one of the most loathed. Below are some affordable things you can do to make your leaf clean-up a bit easier:
Rake at the correct time: A lot of people spend just about every weekend picking up their leaves. Yet several days of blustery conditions just brings many more leaves for the next weekend. You should just about always wait for dry day to pick-up your leaves because they will be less heavy and easier to work with. Of course, less windy days are better because you will not be overwhelmed with more leaves moving around as you try to rake up the leaves that have already fallen.
Consider mulching your leaves: You can use a chipper vac to chop your leaves into small pieces that can serve as mulch. You might want to consider mulching your leaves if you do not have too many to clean up. Many leaves may be used as a kind of home made mulch to keep your plants warm through the cold winter months.
Use the right tools: Electric leaf blowers are popular, but they are loud and dirty. Some people use leaf blowers more than they should. Leaf blowers are broad blowing tools that can often disburse more leaves around your yard. For flower beds don’t use a leaf blower, instead use a medium-sized leaf rake to pull the leaves out into the open where you have more space. You can also get creative and use a mower to suck up leaves.
No one enjoys cleaning up leaves every autumn but most people enjoy the shade provided by those trees during the summer. With a little planning the job of removing leaves from your lawn could be much less time consuming than you think. The tricks above can you finish your leaf pick up quickly and easily and give you more time to consider your next favorite outdoor chore: shoveling snow!
