The General Died at Dawn – Fine play of Oriental intrigue, with mercenary Cooper falling in love with foreign agent Carroll when fighting threatening warlord Tamiroff. Cast Gary Cooper, Madeleine Carroll, Akim Tamiroff, Dudley Digges, Porter Chamber, and William Frawley. (97 minutes,’36)
Scream 3 – As the name implies this is the third motion picture in the Scream series. Sydney has run away to Northern California, and is in hiding. Back in L.A. they are filming a motion picture about Sydney’s life. When there are a series of murders on the set of the movie, Sydney must return to L.A. and help the cops locate the killer.
The Leading Man – British backstage show romance in regards to an American film megastar who seduces a playwright’s depressed spouse and his leading-woman mistress. When it might not make up its mind whether it’s a comedy tirade or a light thriller, it’s still exceptionally hilarious stuff. Bon Jovi is excellent as the rash, dishonorable Yankee, and Galiena and Newton are attractive as the females snared in his web. Cast includes Jon Bon Jovi, Anna Galiena, Lambert Wilson, Thandie Newton, Barry Humphries, and David Warner. (100 minutes,’97)
Pretty Woman – A coincidental meeting of a street hooker and a ruthless and extremely well-to-do businessman leads to a unique proposition. He employs her for the week, to attend some functions with him as an escort. He has no clue what he has gotten himself into. Starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.
