Cleaning Your Rental Car Could Save You Money
June 18th, 2010
George Archer Many people are not aware of the fact that when they rent a vehicle from a service that they are supposed to return it in the condition which it was rented in. Although that sounds like common sense, what most people consider “clean” won’t be clean as far as the rental service is concerned. Car rental services can charge cleaning fees if you don’t bring the vehicle back to them in pristine condition. There are a few things that you can do to guard against these fees, however.
First of all, don’t smoke in the car. This is one of the worst things that you can do, because even if you smoke with the window rolled down, it will still leave an odor in the car because the smoke clings to anything it touches. This includes upholstery and carpet. De-odorizing the car costs money, so obviously the service is going to pass that cost to you.
There is no telling what you’ll find underneath the seats after you finish using the car, either. Many a pen, coin, and bluetooth headset has been lost under the seat of a vehicle, but why make yourself a potential victim. Miscellaneous bits of trash can collect under the seat, as well, causing the rental service to have to spend more time prepping the vehicle to be re-rented. Gum and candies can stick to the carpet, also, so avoid using these things while renting.
Suspension Shock Absorbers
June 17th, 2010
Brett Jepson The shock absorbers on a vehicle are critical components for stopping movement of the car as well as movement of the suspension. If motor vehicles had not been fitted with shocks, it would travel unevenly. Due to the unevenness of the travel on the road, the tires would not touch the road and going around a corner or sudden braking will be treacherous.
To give you a notion of how shocks work, think of yourself driving down a road with speed humps. Should your vehicle only have springs and no shocks, once you go over the speed hump, the springs carry on moving to and fro until such time as they rid themselves of the momentum of compression. This causes the vehicle to sway and jump around as soon as it has crossed the speed hump.
Now, another example of a car driving over the exact same speed hump, but this one has springs as well as shocks fitted. The springs would still absorb the bounce on the speed hump, however, the springs’ movement will be dampened by the shock absorbers. The shocks will attain this by changing the kinetic energy into heat and by doing so, steadying the vehicle’s movement.
The Importance Of Proper Vehicle Maintenance
June 16th, 2010
George Archer For most of us, our wheels have replaced everything from horses to bicycles. For some, they’ve come pretty close to replacing their legs. Automobiles are here to stay, but yours may not be if you don’t take care of it the way you know you’re supposed to. There are some essential things that you have to do to keep your vehicle running great, but none of them are very difficult.
One of the first things that you absolutely have to do is keep your oil changed regularly. This is the one thing that your local service station will make sure and give you a reminder of, because after they change it, they will often put a sticker on your windshield that lets you know what your odometer will read when you need to bring it back. Most of the time you’ll have to change your oil every 3,000 miles, but if you stretch it you can go 4,000 miles before noticing any substantial amount of performance drop in your vehicle.
Car Accessories For IPod Touch, To Enjoy Music Safely And Freely
June 15th, 2010
Sally Thompson So let me ask a question, when you posses an iPod device which has complete collection of your most coveted music, wouldn’t you like to hear such music wherever you are and wherever you go? I guess most of you will answer this question in yes; well such is the beauty of this product which keeps you always in touch with your coveted music.
This is possible as an iPod device is small and mobile. You can even listen to your favorite tunes or music while exercising in a gym, taking a walk or moving in a yard.
What about listening or using your iPod while driving from your car? Listening to your music using iPod touch headset at the time of your driving can be a dangerous proposition. While listening to your favorite tune it’s very likely that you will not hear anything that’s going around you.
Vehicle Mount
The accessory iPod device vehicle mount is a flexible device holder that will firmly attach it towards louvers along with the vents that are located on the dashboard. Holder of such kind can be moved easily making it simpler for the person to reposition or shift the device from one place to another.
Some Common Penalties For Driving With No Insurance
June 13th, 2010
Johann Ken Flanders If you drive in no insurance then you are likely to come under the full arm of the law and have various penalties and punishments apply to you. These punishments will depend upon the infraction that you make and this nature and each state will require you to have some level of insurance to avoid all of this.
In the main there will be two different types infractions that any motorist can do. The first of these will be when a motorist has an insurance policy for the vehicle but does not have it on them when they are stopped traffic stop. The other will be when the motorist has absolutely no insurance policy whatsoever.
The most common type of punishment that you will get from not having an insurance policy will be some sort of ticket and a resulting fine alongside it. The amount of the fine can range from several hundred dollars all the way up to a fair few thousand depending upon which state the infraction was in and the severity of the infraction itself.

Step To Follow For Rental Car Accidents
June 8th, 2010
Jason Hall Although we always hope that we remain accident free, especially while driving a rental car, there are a few things we should always keep in mind. Even if you never want to use the information that I am giving to you today, it is important to read through it so that you know what to do, before and after the accident takes place.
To start make sure that you are insured when renting your vehicle. While your credit card company and your car insurance policy may cover any issues that may arise, it is good to find out this information in advance. Then, it is always a wise investment to take the additional insurance offered to you by the car rental agency. Usually you can do this for as little as $10 per day, but it can really help make the process a much smoother one.
As soon as the accident occurs, call the police first to file an incident report. You should do this from where ever you are at the time of the accident and try to leave the vehicle in the position it was in when it was hit. Then call the rental car agency and report the accident. Do not admit any liability for the accident to the car rental company and do not offer to pay or settle the incident without the consent of the company themselves.
