What Are Compound Bows

Bows come in a variety of shapes and sizes; there are different classifications, which serve uniquely in a number of sports, competitions, leisure hunts, etc. Among which is the compound bow. A compound bow is categorized as a modernized bow. The materials used in this bow are non-conventional than those of the more traditional bows.

The compound bow uses a levering system consisting of pulleys and cables. The reason for this is to have better energy retention in the bow as it bends the limbs and draws the strings. The central mount or the riser for instance is commonly made from magnesium or aircraft grade aluminum alloys; this is the component, which the limbs, stabilizers, sights and quivers are connected.

The limbs are made from high grade composite materials; these are very durable and sturdy as this is where all the drawn energy is stored and not on the cables and pulleys. High-modulus polyethylene is used for the bow’s cables or strings; these are designed to transfer the drawn energy to the arrow with as much durability and efficiency with minimal stress on stretchability.  Read more...

Left hand bow hunting is no different from right hand hunting; the cardinal rule is for one to identify the right bow to use. The dominant eye determines if one is right handed or left handed in bow hunting. This is a more humane approach to hunting live game. It is vastly popular in the American and European regions where hunting small and large game is legal.

Hunting is another sport, which the compound bow is often used. It hunts for live game the same way the traditional hunting experience does but without the need to use guns. This, according to expert archer societies allows a more humane kill of the prey. Hunting Deer With A Compound Bow

When the gun hunting season comes to an end the bow hunting season begins. Hunting with a bow is difficult especially if you are hunting for deer. This article sets out a few tips for beginner bow hunters that will help you with understanding the intricacies of deer hunting with a compound bow.

Because of the fact that bows don’t have as much range as rifles do, bow hunters must be able to come much closer to their prey than they would need when using a rifle. That is one of the reasons why bow hunting is a bit more challenging than hunting with a rifle. This is the primary reason why bow hunting is more difficult.

Because most bow hunters hunt in the fall there is the challenge of finding good hiding places. That is why you need to work on being cautious and try to take in as much as you can with every hunting trip. Many hunters try to hunt on trees so that they avoid detection by the prey and at the same time maintain their field of view.
