This is especially true if you are a Windows Vista user (Vista has a lot of unnecessary programs that run in the back ground that are designed to just make the operating system look nice. By disabling them you will get a small performance boost). If your curious about this, here’s how to do it:

If you are using Windows XP, click Start, right click on My Computer and select Properties. Select the Advanced tab and where it says “Performance”, click on the Settings button. In the Visual Effects tab select Adjust For Best Performance. What you are doing here is making Windows XP look more like Windows 98. If you would like your computer to look somewhat good and still be tuned for performance, select the Custom box, make sure that all of the other boxes are checked off, scroll down to the bottom and select “Use Visual Styles On Windows And Buttons”. Want To Make Your Slow Computer A Bit Faster? Try This Out.

If you want to make your slow computer faster, then tuning your virtual memory would be a great place to start. You see, your hard drive is that place that your computer stores files like videos, picture etc… Your RAM on the other hand is the place that your computer’s programs work in. Its basically like a temporary working area. It’s a great system, but when your RAM gets full your computer has two choices: it can either tell you that you cannot open any more programs or it can find a new place to be used as the temporary working place. This is where virtual memory comes into play. Virutal memory is space on your computers hard drive that will be used the same way that your computer uses RAM

The name for this space on your hard drive is called a Paging File and is what you need to “tune” if you want to make your slow computer a bit faster. Your paging file is designed to be two different sizes that it moves in between: the Initial Size and the Maximum Size. Since these two sizes are constantly changing it causes your paging file to work inefficiently. Many people out there think that web design is really hard. After all, there are thousands of programs out there to create web pages and millions of people going to expensive colleges every year just to learn all about web sites! However, things are not nearly as hard as you would think.

The first thing a good site has is good content. People visit web pages for what is on the page, not how the page looks. Ger out some paper and start listing things you would like on your web site. Things like “links”, “About me” and “Home” are always good starting points.

The next step is organizing your web page. If similar things are on your list they can go on the same page. For example, a webring banner and your links can go on the same page. Try not to have too many pages on your web site as people do not like to sift through 20 different pages for information. Keep it simple.

Computers contain many valuable elements that can be used after reclamation. These include lead, gold, and copper. For example, a 15-inch monitor can contain over five pounds of lead that can be reused to construct new system.

For consumers, recycling e-waste is becoming more and more convenient. One popular method is donation. You can give your computer to a charity. Some common organizations that use the donated computers include libraries, foster homes, animal shelters, or community centers.
