Have you ever looked at all of those cables that are a big tangled mess, and yet somehow connect all of your entertainment center components together? Do you know what any of them do, or even if you are using the right cable for the job? Don’t worry, if you answered no to either of these questions you are not alone. It feels like we are soon going to reach the point where you need an engineering degree in order to get your TV to work properly.
First thing you have to look at is what kinds of components you have and how they all fit together. These days almost everything is considered high definition, so you have to plan accordingly. Television, plasma, LCD and DLP’s all have HDMI inputs that are required for a high definition quality. If you have cable, it needs to be HD and the box must be hooked into the television via an HDMI cable. Otherwise the picture is not true HD.
