Its technological features are top of the line. However, there are some qualities of this HDTV that some shoppers are not one hundred percent clued up on. So what is 720p technology?
The number 720 stands for the number of horizontal scan lines of display resolution or 720 pixels of vertical resolution. The letter p stands for progressive scans.
Any 720p HDTV will provide nothing but first class, crystal clear pictures. A typical 720p HDTV with 16:9 widescreen resolution has a vertical resolution of 720 pixels and a horizontal resolution of 1280 pixels. That gives you 921,600 pixels altogether.
When it comes to HDTV technology, the more pixels an HDTV has, the better image quality it will produce. A good example to use for pixel to clarity correlation would be mobile phone cameras vs digital cameras. If you were to compare the images of the two, the digital camera’s images would be better every time. That’s because the digital camera’s images have more pixels – the same principal goes for HDTVs.
